About Me

The Journey to Growth

Why I Became a Counselor

I became a therapist to give people a space where they can actively shape their own well-being.

My passion for this work began far from the therapy room—in a small village in northern Portugal. One of my first memories is asking my mother, "What’s behind those hills?". That curiosity for the world eventually led me to live and work in six different countries and cross two countries on foot.

Therapy, for me, isn’t about fixing what’s “wrong” — it’s about supporting your natural capacity to grow, reflect, and choose how you want to live.

My Approach: Tailored for You

My work is guided by authenticity and creativity. I believe therapy should never be a one-size-fits-all process.

My approach draws on:

  • Positive Psychology

  • Person-Centred Therapy

  • Logotherapy

  • Philosophical Counseling

Each session is custom-designed around you—your needs, your interests, and the strengths you already bring. Instead of ready-made formulas, we discover tools that feel engaging and practical so that progress becomes something you own, not something handed down.

My Experience & Qualifications

My background combines formal education with real-world experience navigating complex transitions and diverse contexts:

  • Formal Education: I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in educational, development, and counselling psychology from the University of Coimbra.

  • Positive Psychology Expertise: I completed a certificate in Positive Psychology from Pennsylvania's University, which grounds my focus on human flourishing and strengths-based interventions.

  • Global Community Support: I have worked as a development psychologist supporting the Portuguese-speaking community in Switzerland and offered parental counseling services in various educational settings.

  • Diverse Contexts: My professional experience includes roles as an educational psychologist, trainer, and recruiter, giving me a broad understanding of the challenges related to career, education, and vocational behavior.

Who I Work With

I work with people from around 15 years old upwards—often travelers, exchange students, digital nomads, and expats who are building a life away from home.

Others come simply to promote their well-being, explore questions of purpose, or consider what direction feels most aligned.

What unites my clients is their curiosity, their desire to reflect, and their readiness to grow through experience.

What to Expect

Sessions are open, collaborative, and non-judgmental—a place to explore ideas as well as emotions. I provide services via video call, with sessions available in the evenings and on Saturdays to accommodate different time zones.

My hope is that you leave not only feeling supported, but also equipped with insights and strategies you can carry into everyday life.

Before we begin: I offer a short 20-30 minute conversation to ensure we're the right match and that the journey ahead feels safe and constructive.
